Pay Raise
On July 1, 2024, bargaining unit members received a hard fought 3.25% pay increase. This is the last of the 12% increases (before compounding) that were negotiated and began retroactively on July 1, 2022. Congratulations!
Our current unit contract with the County of Los Angeles, which was negotiated by your Local 685 leadership, expires on January 31, 2025. Our contract for fringe benefits, including medical, dental, and pension, is negotiated with the Coalition of County Unions and expires on September 31, 2025. Stay tuned for updates on our next unit and fringe benefit negotiations cycles.
Uniform Roll Out Reminder
The Probation Department is organizing fittings for new uniforms this week at the east camps. Effective October 1, 2024, all officers working in the halls/institutions, including Field Officers and others on reassignment, will be required to wear uniforms. All officers will be/may be subject to some form of discipline after that date if not in compliance.
They will have fitting sessions at Kilpatrick in September and make up fittings at Los Padrinos next week. The vendors will have jackets, hats, and other ancillary merchandise available for purchase.
